Black Milk has teamed up with Ramsbottom’s The Chocolate Café to develop its own range of confectionary chocolate bars.

The collaboration will see the Northern Quarter trendiest dessert spot turn, for the first time, its iconic hazelnut spread and salted caramel sauce into indulgent chocolate slabs.

The first chocolate bar – Biscoff & Salted Caramel with white chocolate – will launch this Friday  and will be available online and in the café shop.

Working with the chocolatiers, Black Milk has developed three further chocolate bars each with a flavour twist – hazelnut spread, caramelised white chocolate and cookies and cream and they will become available throughout the summer.

Black Milk contacted The Chocolate Café at the start of lockdown to take the limited-edition bars from idea to shop floor, working tirelessly to perfect the flavour combinations to be ready for sale.

Founder of Black Milk, Olly Taylor, said: “ The Chocolate Café has always been a huge inspiration to us as a food brand – the chance to collaborate with one of Manchester’s best most creative chocolatiers has been a really fun experience.

“We are always looking for new ways to adapt the Black Milk flavours, so to have the opportunity to make our own chocolate bar has been exciting.”

The new chocolate bars will be available for purchase from Black Milk’s café and on its web shop, RRP £3.95.

Olly added: “Our collaborations work historically has been led by catering events, but this has been massively impacted by coronavirus.

“With so many events postponed or cancelled, we have had to adapt to ensure we still make the  magic happen in the ‘new normal’ – working with brands like The Chocolate Café is a fun way for us to showcase creative food experiences online for our fans and find new shoppers.”

Black Milk Northern Quarter is open seven days a week: 12 – 6pm Monday to Thursday and Sunday, and 12 – 8pm on Friday and Saturday, with seating inside and outside. From Monday 3rd August it will offer discounts Monday to Wednesday as part of the governments ‘Eat out to help out’ scheme.

The chocolate bars follow the launch of Black Milk’s latest sauce flavour ‘cookies and cream’, both are available on the web and café shops.
