Sheridan Lifts, has achieved remarkable growth, doubling its turnover from £8 million in 2018 to an impressive £16 million in 2022.

With ambitious plans for further expansion, Sheridan Lifts aims to reach a turnover of £20 million by the end of 2023, solidifying its position as a leading player in the engineering and construction industries.

The Manchester-based lift company’s recent success can be attributed to its installation of over 1,000 units in the past four years, along with the maintenance of a staggering 5,000 units across the UK.

On average, Sheridan Lifts installs 250 units annually, generating approximately £10 million in revenue.

Sheridan Lifts has also achieved considerable success through its client-forward approach, with some notable projects including multi-lift installations for Birmingham Commonwealth Games, where a total of eleven eight to thirteen-person lifts were installed across six residential buildings to allow safe and comfortable access for athletes living and working in Birmingham throughout the games.

The family-run business has also been tasked with designing and installing bespoke glass lifts for grade 1 listed building, Caernarfon Castle, as well as luxury retailer, END Clothing.

Their expertise spans across multiple lift types, including passenger, passenger goods, dumbwaiter, and platform lifts, as well as scenic lifts, glass lifts, car lifts, energy-saving lifts, fire and evacuation lifts, and high-speed elevators.

The company’s diverse offerings encompass the design, sale, and installation of new lifts, maintenance and repair services for existing lifts, as well as service and repair for various passenger and service lift models.

Since its establishment in 1979 by founder, Stan Sheridan, Sheridan Lifts has grown into one of the largest independent lift companies in the UK, garnering four decades of expertise in providing comprehensive lift solutions.

The firm has increased its staff headcount by over 20% in the last year, with 136 members of staff now working across service, maintenance, lift installations and modernisations, and in the sales, project, administration and account management departments.

In addition to their Manchester headquarters, Sheridan Lifts now boasts regional offices in Watford, near London, Cannock in the West Midlands and Waltham Abbey in Essex.

Speaking about the company’s recent successes and continued growth, Dan Sheridan Operations Director at Sheridan Liffts, commented:

“The next step for us is to open our next planned regional offices, details of which will soon be revealed. By the end of the year, we expect to have hired 25 staff, and our turnover goal is £20 million. We’ve already achieved so much, but I believe we can go even bigger and better. I couldn’t be more proud of the business and our team as it stands today.

“To know we’ve carried on my grandfather’s work so successfully is extremely rewarding for all of us, and we hope Sheridan Lifts will pass down through many more generations of our family to come.”
