Manchester garden designer, David Keegan has won The Residential Landscaping Design award for his The Eco Garden in Worsley at the prestigious The Northern Design Awards.

The awards serve to recognise, reward and celebrate excellence across a broad range of categories, bringing together architects, designers, property developers and retailers in a celebration of northern design and style. To win a Northern Design Award is a high achievement as they are voted for exclusively by leading industry experts.

‘The Eco Garden’ perfectly exemplifies David’s approach to garden design, which is very much rooted in designing and creating spaces that are not only user-friendly but set out to enhance the natural environment in ways that best protect and promote wildlife-friendly spaces. David is committed to low maintenance and low environmental impact areas where reclaimed materials are used as much as possible. Part of this approach is also reliant on working organically and encouraging clients to use organic methods of maintenance once a project is completed and signed over. David was thrilled to receive his award:

“It was such and honour to have won the Residential Landscaping Design Award as the project was quite unique and not at all conventional. The award stands as a testament to the vision, courage and faith of my client in commissioning it.”

This year the ceremony was held at the Royal Armouries and New Dock Hall in Leeds and was hosted by Wayne Hemingway of Red or Dead fame along with compère George Clark from the Restoration Man TV show.
