A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a body of a woman in her 60s were discovered in a property in Ancoats earlier today.
Formal identification and a post mortem have not yet taken place on the body which was found at a property in Firbeck Drive
Detective Inspector Ben Cottam, from the City of Manchester division, said: “There have been officers at the property throughout the day and understandably neighbours and the wider community may be concerned by what has happened.
“I want to stress this is an isolated incident and we are still in the early stages of trying to establish how this woman died.
“You may see police in the area as we continue our enquiries and please feel assured these officers are there to help find the answers we need.”
