A 28 year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody following a stabbing in Crowcroft Park last night
His victim a man in his 40s was taken to hospital, where he currently remains in life-threatening condition.
Detective Inspector Natalie McDonald, from GMP Neighbourhood Crime Team said: “We fully appreciate the concern this incident may cause across the local community, but I would like to reassure you that we believe this to be an isolated incident that poses no wider threat to the public.
“We currently have a man in custody and are conducting extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident.
“Our officers have been at the scene overnight and will continue to patrol the area throughout the day. I urge anyone with concerns to please approach and speak with them, as they will always be happy to support.”
