The Littleborough born DJ Andy Kershaw has died at the age of 66
Kershaw announced earlier this year that he was battling cancer which had left him unable to walk
Kershaw became a familiar voice on Radio 1 for 15 years and was known for promoting alternative music, once seen as a future replacement for John Peel
He also famously was a presenter at 1985’s Live Aid at Wembley stadium
