Diablesse Rum, the first independent female-owned rum brand based in the UK, has collaborated with Moxy Manchester

Diablesse Rum, the first independent female-owned rum brand based in the UK, has collaborated with Moxy Manchester to host a free-to-attend rum tasting event.

Taking place on Thursday 23rd June, 6-8pm, the rum event will see guests treated to specially created Diablesse cocktails, crafted in partnership with the Moxy Manchester bar team and the chance to learn more about the Diablesse Rum brand and rum in general from founder, Cleo Farman.

The UK is currently enjoying a rum renaissance, with rum sales soaring and more people looking to try rum in the place of gin. Rum also sits at the heart of the ever-popular cocktail movement, with rum featuring in five of the top 20 cocktails served in bars and three of the top ten cocktails made at home.

With plenty of rum to sample, the event will look to showcase the three unique Diablesse expressions, Diablesse Caribbean Rum, Diablesse Clementine Spiced Rum and the brand- new Coconut & Hibiscus, the first coconut and hibiscus rum in the world, and its naturally pink too!v

The event has limited places and will be attended on a first-come-first-serve basis. To register your place, please go to the Moxy Manchester Eventbrite page.

This event is strictly over-18’s only.

Post-event, Moxy Manchester will run a special summer cocktail menu for a week, showcasing all three expressions, giving everyone a chance to sample the rum delights.

As the first solely female owned rum brand in the UK, Diablesse Rum supports and represents female empowerment and equality, whilst looking to produce quality, authentic rums of excellent provenance that will enchant rum connoisseurs, tempt rum virgins and turn gin lovers to the wonderful ways of rum.

Diablesse Rum is also proud to support the Young Women’s Trust, a feminist organisation working to achieve economic justice for young women. The Young Women’s Trust supports young women in making plans for the future, also campaigning for young women’s equality in the workplace.

The Diablesse Coconut and Hibiscus Rum is a totally unique new flavour profile which is completely natural.

The new rum is also bottled to be more sustainable, using 65% recycled glass (30% more than most bottles), which is much lighter, resulting in a better carbon footprint.

A beautifully unique flavour blending natural coconut with hibiscus & frangipane this results in wonderful dried cherry flavours,  flaked almonds, toffee & floral undertones.   This combination has resulted in a 100% naturally pink rum. Diablesse Coconut & Hibiscus Rum uses a delicious, single origin demerara rum from Guyana’s Diamond Distillery as its base, a naturally sweet rum with a fantastic silky texture.

Having launched in 2019, Diablesse  Coconut and Hibiscus is the newest launch, joining the original two distinct, small-batch expressions: Diablesse Caribbean Rum, and Diablesse Clementine Spiced Rum.

Diablesse is spearheaded by owner and founder Cleo Farman, who discovered her love of all things rum in the noughties while taking press trips to Necker Island in the Caribbean. She found that the rum industry was widely a male dominated brand, seeing a distinct gap in the market to create a rum that represented female inclusivity. Farman now works alongside a strong team of women to champion the brand.

The original Diablesse range is currently stocked nationally online at Master of Malt, 31 Dover, Whisky Exchange,  Drinks Supermarket, and Amazon, and is already available in Selfridges and a number of national independent wine & spirits merchants. It is also served in a number of bars across Manchester & London, including Cottonopolis,  Refuge,  Ducie Street Warehouse,  Liars Club, Volta, Trailer Happiness & Laki Kane to name a few.
