The last Stockport Krazy Races saw over 15,000 spectators cheering on 30 wildly creative soapbox teams, and now the UK’s largest free-to-attend soapbox derby is back — promising to be even bigger than before! Since the last Stockport event, Krazy Races has been touring the country, developing and evolving the event with exciting new features and entertainment. Now, the team is excited to bring these additions back to Stockport — a town that holds a special place in the heart of Krazy Races.

Krazy Races has become a firm favourite across the country, attracting over 250,000 people to its events and raising more than £200,000 for local charities since 2018. Stockport alone has benefitted by nearly £20,000 raised for local causes.

This year’s adrenaline-fuelled event will once again take over the streets of Stockport, with competitors tackling a thrilling 350m course packed with chicanes, obstacles, water splashes, and surprises. Homemade soapbox karts will launch from the starting line and race through the heart of Stockport, cheered on by thousands of fans.

As always, the event is powered by the creativity and courage of local teams. Organisers are now calling on 20–40 teams from Stockport and beyond to step up, build their soapbox karts, and compete for glory. With trophies up for grabs for Fastest Kart, Best Design, Best Performance, and public vote, it’s not all about speed — imagination and performance play a big part too!

The event will also feature a vibrant event village with local food stalls, entertainment, and activities for all the family, making it a fantastic day out for the whole community.

Danny Scoffin, Head of Business at Krazy Races, said: “We are so excited to be bringing Krazy Races back to Stockport in 2026 after a two-year break. The last event was incredible, with thousands turning out to watch the action and nearly £20,000 raised for local charities. Since then, we’ve toured the country, developing and adding new features to make the experience even better — and we can’t wait to bring these additions to Stockport, which holds a very special place in our hearts. With the support of Totally Stockport BID, we’re going bigger than ever before!”

Shaun Freeman-Jones, Totally Stockport BID Manager- “We’re thrilled to be funding the return of Krazy Races to Stockport and working alongside the Krazy Races team and Stockport Council to make it a reality. It’s fantastic to see local businesses come together to create such imaginative soapboxes, and the event never fails to draw a huge crowd. We can’t wait to welcome it back to town!”
