KAYS Traffic Management has teamed up with SportsCool to deliver free sports coaching sessions and clubs to children across the North West this October half term.

COVID-19 has caused huge disruption across the country & children’s health and fitness has been no exception, however, the funding will mean that children in the North West will still have access to free sports coaching and clubs over the school holidays. Over 100 children will be provided with meals throughout the scheme to ensure they are not affected by the current economic climate.

SportsCool will provide the coaching to schools, with 100% of the costs for the courses and meals covered by KAYS Traffic Management. Initially, the scheme will target schools in Blackburn, Bolton and Manchester areas.

The sports education providers work in over 300 primary schools delivering curricular and extracurricular sports sessions, to ensure every child has the chance to progress, develop, and enjoy sport in a structured and safe environment.

“This funding from KAYS shows their investment in the communities that they operate in. The scheme will help children who need this access to activity, to sport and fun throughout the half-term which is huge, while also ensuring they receive a balanced meal too.

Not only that, but it also helps support us as a business and many staff members during what is a very difficult time for the country economically. We are delighted to have KAYS on board, this has overwhelming benefits for our local communities “

(Lee Lysons, a Director of SportsCool)

KAYS are a leading service provider in permanent and temporary road markings, specialist surfaces, traffic management, event management and verge maintenance.

During the pandemic, KAYS Traffic Management has remained at the heart of the North’s support system keeping those that are still using the roads safe. As well as traffic management, the team at KAYS have been busy implementing the rollout of social distancing markings, building temporary cycle lanes, and have worked with local authorities to place a series of rainbows and messages of thanks to the NHS across the North West.

“We are proud to have provided funding for the scheme to ensure the pandemic does not impact children’s opportunity to stay active and have fun. Community spirit is at the very heart of our business, and we want to help keep our communities going as well as the UK’s roads”
