Comedian Justin Moorhouse has imagined how two of the biggest names in world football are adjusting to life in Manchester with a new sketch to be featured on BBC Radio Manchester.

Justin takes a comical look at how new Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and new Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho are adapting to Greater Manchester.

The weekly sketch will feature voice over artists voicing Pep and Jose as Justin’s imagines them navigating the Metrolink tram system and tasting Eccles cakes.

Two of the biggest names in world football have arrived in Manchester – but how will and Jose Mourinho adjust to life away from the training ground and stadium dugout?

BBC Radio Manchester has launched a new weekly sketch show offering an insight into the true thoughts of the two managers as they encounter the culture, cuisine and quirks of their new home city.

What will they make of the Metrolink tram system, Eccles cakes or Vimto? What about the famously wet weather and the local dialect? Will they think Manchester is all mint or just bobbins?

Pep and Jose is a radio sketch broadcast on the BBC Radio Manchester breakfast show on Friday mornings and is also an animated sketch on BBC Radio Manchester’s Facebook and twitter accounts

The topical chat between the two bosses of City and United will be imagined by comedian Justin Moorhouse and voiced by two voice over artists, Alfie Joey and Cal Herbert.

Managing Editor of BBC Radio Manchester Kate Squire said: “We wanted to mark the arrival of Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho in Manchester in a fun way and we’re delighted with Justin’s hilarious script. The weekly sketch should be a real treat for our listeners.”

Pep and Jose will be broadcast at 8.15am on the Breakfast Show (95.1FM) presented by Alison Butterworth and Phil Trow starting Friday 12 August, and on social media shortly afterwards.
