An elderly man from Baguley was charged with being drunk in charge of a horse in Hale, assaulting two police officers and and I’ll treating the horse.
It was reported that when he was told that he was not able to stable the horse for the night after being drunk, he stood with it on the roadway for about an hour, twitching the horse with his whipstock,striking out at passing motorists and hitting a man who spoke to him.
