Local baby and child swim school, Puddle Ducks Greater Manchester, has named its most recent ‘Star Teacher’- an inspirational individual who excels in teaching young children and babies to swim across the area, and receives glowing reviews from the parents and children they teach.

Their ‘Star Teacher’ is Jo Chandler, a local lady who teaches classes at Aqua Nurture in Gee Cross, Reddish Vale High School in Stockport, Wright Robinson College in Gorton, and the Y Club in Castlefield.

Jo joined Puddle Ducks in 2017, after working in Finance. She switched her career to follow her love of the water, following a passion to help children develop their skills in the pool. She teaches mothers and babies in her aqua natal classes and baby and pre-school classes.

One review in particular praised Jo’s patience and ability to help children who struggle to adapt to the water.

The review read: “Jo has been so patient with my child and his social anxiety; she has always got him to do that little bit more and make him feel that little bit more comfortable each week.

“She has allowed my child to develop in confidence throughout her lessons and most definitely deserves this award! Thank you Jo.”

Suzanne Horton, owner of Puddle Ducks Greater Manchester comments: “Jo is a wonderful teacher and definitely deserving of this award. She has jumped straight in to teaching, getting to know each child and helping them develop their skills in the water.

“She not only delivers great lessons which help the children learn, but she lets them have so much fun whilst doing so- something we love to focus on at Puddle Ducks. She is inspiring a whole generation of children to love and respect the water and we are so lucky to have her on our team!”
