Four attractions and buildings from across the North West have been selected from across the region to be shortlisted in MyGlazing.com’s Window with a View competition, including Manchester’s very own Cloud 23.

Launched in 2016 by the independent consumer support website which offers free advice to homeowners, the competition returned in March 2017 in the quest to find the UK’s Best Window with a View.

Now, last year’s North West regional winner The Liverpool Museum could have its title taken by Cloud23 inside The Hilton, Manchester, following its entry of a stunning view across the city, looking out of its floor to ceiling window.

The well-known bar inside the city’s infamous hotel will now go head to head with Blackpool Tower, Netherwood of Cumbria and the Old Church of St. Martin’s, also in Cumbria, in a fight to take the North West title.

The images for the competition, which range from coastal scenes to city skylines, will now face a public vote to decide a winner from each region. For both competitions, voting via www.myglazing.com/competitions closes at the end of July. Each regional winner will then be put forward to win the title of the UK’s Best Window with a View, or Best Home with a View, with voting for the national titles running throughout August and September.

The competition invited anyone visiting or working at any public attraction or building to embrace their inner photographer and take a picture from a window that has a particularly impressive view.

The hundreds of entries were whittled down to just four per region, by a judging panel made up of experts from the glazing, tourism, architecture, photography, construction and interior industries.

And for the first time this year, those who felt their home had a special view equally deserving of recognition had a chance to enter with the launch of a second competition “Home with a View”. The additional competition invited the public to submit a picture taken from inside their house, sharing a spectacular view that only they are lucky enough to enjoy.

James Lee, director of marketing and communications at MyGlazing.com, added: “We were delighted to receive so many entries to the second year of the Window with a View competition, and for Home with a View to be so well received. It was great to see so many iconic landmarks from across the UK getting involved in the competition, and were also delighted to discover some new hidden gems.

“The quality of the images has really showcased the beauty of the country’s beautiful landscape, and the views families are lucky enough to enjoy from their homes. We hope that the competitions also work to raise awareness of the benefits of modern, clear and energy efficient glazing. Good luck to all of the shortlisted entries!”

People can vote for their favourite shortlisted views at www.MyGlazing.com/competitions, where they will also be entered into a prize draw with the opportunity to win a selection of prizes including GoPro action camera kits and a Fujifilm Instax camera.
