The cause of a fire at a farm off Bentley Hall Road in Bury last night is being investigate.

Greater Manchester Firefighters were called to the blaze involving a large quantity of trees and wood which affected a farm building.

At the height of the incident six fire engines, a drone unit and hose layer lorry from Bury, Bolton, Whitefield, Ramsbottom, Farnworth, Hindley, Atherton, Heywood and Blackley supported the incident.

Station Manager Wayne Van-Hecke said: “Crews have worked hard throughout the night in challenging conditions to tackle the blaze. We have made good progress and have now scaled back to four fire engines at the scene. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service will remain at the incident throughout the course of the day to ensure the fire is fully under control.”
