Chorlton Green reopened this October – just in time to reveal its first festive season under the new team behind Salford’s award-winning Black Friar. Nestled in a leafy suburb away from the busy city centre, it’s offering a calmer, cosy spot for this year’s Christmas celebrations.

This year, the 200 year old pub has gone all-in on Christmas charm. Guests can expect warm decor throughout with twinkling lights draped across original beams, beautifully decorated Christmas trees, festive bows, garlands and cosy fireplaces dressed for the season. The outdoor terrace overlooking the green has also been transformed into a wintery hideaway perfect for chilly evenings

Head Chef Ben Chaplin has created a refined festive menu rooted in seasonal British produce and comforting winter flavours. Expect elevated takes on classics, locally sourced ingredients and indulgent plates designed for long, relaxed evenings with friends and family.

Highlights from the festive menu include:

  • Lobster ravioli, prawn and mussel bisque, tarragon

  • Game terrine, clementine and shallot chutney, toast

  • Roasted sea trout fillet, colcannon potato cake, champagne and bonito sauce

  • Turkey ballotine, chestnut and sausage meat stuffing, roast fondant potatoes, shredded sprouts, carrots, gravy

  • Stem ginger spiced dark chocolate mousse, gingerbread

  • Festive sticky toffee pudding, spiced dried fruits, toffee sauce and vanilla
