The Labour MP for Gorton and Denton Andrew Gwynne has said that he intend to serve a full term and will not be stepping aside to give Andy Burnham a passage to Westminster
Gywnne, currently suspended from the Labour Party over messages posted on a WhatsApp group was rumoured earlier this week to be stepping down due to ill health
In his first public comment, Gwynne said: “In order to end the tedious speculation about my seat while I’m trying to recover from a period of ill health, it is my intention to serve a full term.”
He added: “The route to No 10 is not going to be through Gorton & Denton.”
