Christmas will officially arrive in Manchester this Sunday afternoon when the Greggs Festive Bake arrives in the city ahead on it going on sale nationwide.

The Greggs Festive Bake will arrive in the City Tower Parker Street store in Manchester at 4.pm this afternoon

Brits voted online in their thousands for the chance to have the festive treat on sale in their city early. Newcastle came first, followed by Birmingham came second, with Manchester scoring third place, then Cardiff and London fourth and fifth respectively.

Those in the area on the day will also be treated to free Festive Bakes as Greggs will be giving away 500 of the beloved bakes to those able to come to the shop and celebrate from 4pm.

Local lady Caroline Wojnarowski nominated herself to be Manchester’s Greggs Superfan and will bring the Festive Bake Olympic-style torch to the shop at 4pm before officially tasting this year’s Festive Bake. As a Superfan, Caroline will also receive a £100 Greggs gift card and be dressed in a Superfan hoodie on the day.

Caroline was crowned a Superfan after revealing her devotion to the Festive Bakes. She sends out calendar invites for the Festive Bake release date at work and they have Festive Bake Friday at work every Friday throughout November & December.

The tour will then move on to Cardiff with the Festive Bake arriving there the next day.

The Festive Bake is made from succulent pieces of chicken breast, sage & onion stuffing and sweetcure bacon in a creamy sage and cranberry sauce. All wrapped in golden puff pastry with a crunchy crumb topping.

Launching nationwide on 7th November across Greggs 2,000 shops, it is part of the Greggs’ savoury Christmas menu which also launches in November.
