Gary Neville’s Relentless Developments has announced its £400m St Michael’s development will be home to W Hotels and W Residences in a major deal with Marriott International.
The arrival of W Residences will see hotel-inspired living offered at St Michael’s 217 apartments, offering buyers the opportunity to purchase a permanent residence within Manchester’s most exclusive postcode. Sales will launch in November with the first buyers taking occupancy in 2027.
The agreement will also see a 162-room W Hotel located within the development’s iconic 41-storey tower. Set to open Q1 2027, W Manchester will bring bold design, distinctive dining and always-on programming to the city as well as signature spaces including the Living Room, WET deck, W Lounge, AWAY Spa and FIT fitness centre.
The luxury residences will offer owners all the amenities and services of a W Hotel, including 24-hour concierge (W’s whenever/wherever service), round-the-clock in-residence dining, laundry and dry cleaning.
The residences and hotel will feature alongside 75,000 sq. ft of office space at No.2 St Michael’s, the second phase of the scheme which is being brought to the market through a collaboration between Relentless Developments and Salboy.
No.1 St Michael’s comprises nine floors of best-in-class office space and is expected to be the first fully Net Zero Carbon commercial development in the city, both in operation and delivery.
W Residences Manchester will be the brand’s first outside London and one of only 20 worldwide. The globally-renowned brand joins a raft of international companies at the transformative St Michael’s development after record-breaking deals were signed with law firms, Pinsent Masons and Hill Dickinson and Nikkei restaurant brand, Chotto Matte.
St Michael’s is aiming to set new standards in quality, aesthetic and experience in the city, becoming a high-profile destination for work, stay and play. A public square connects the two buildings and will play host to the historic Sir Ralph Abercromby pub which is being retained following a substantial refurbishment.
