Kimpton Clocktower Hotel on Oxford Road has announced their participation in Technogym’s ‘Let’s Move for a Better World’ initiative. Running from 14 – 31 March, gyms across the UK have been encouraged to open their doors to their local communities free of charge for two weeks. This is to encourage people to get moving and join the fight against obesity and sedentary lifestyles. Kimpton Clocktower is taking part, welcoming the people of Manchester to use their state-of-the art Technogym equipment for free and join them for a series of fun events including a 12hour MOVEathon and circuit classes.
The Kimpton Clocktower Hotel offers a luxury state-of-the-art urban fitness centre which houses world-leading cardiovascular and resistance training equipment by Technogym, rowing machines, free weights and more. The space is usually exclusive to hotel guests, but the Technogym initiative will grant access to the wider community free of charge.
Members of the public will be able to book a space in the fitness hub free of charge, with each slot lasting up to 2 hours. All people who book a session will help generate ‘MOVES’ using Technogym equipment. The MOVES generated from the workout will be counted to help donate equipment to local community groups*. The more ‘MOVES’ generated, the more equipment will be donated. Users will be able to book a slot once a day (9-5pm), so the amount of ‘MOVES’ can be maximised for the 2-week period.
To launch the initiative, the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel will be hosting a 12-hour Mega MOVEathon on Tuesday 14 March in which the public, as well as hotel guests and staff, are invited to get moving to kick off the charitable giving. On top of this, there will be additional MOVE Circuit Classes on Wednesday 22 and 29 March from 2:15 – 3:15pm. Any participants need to report to reception on arrival to sign in.

Let’s Move for a Better World is Technogym’s biggest social campaign across the globe to engage local communities, employees and members. It’s a milestone activity to foster community wellbeing and health, as well as giving back at the same time.
