Former Manchester United player Darron Gibson has joined League Two Salford City until the end of the season

The 32-year-old has been without a club after leaving Wigan Athletic at the end of last season, and has trained with The Ammies for a while to build up his fitness.

His career started with Manchester United where he made his Premier League debut in November 2008, before moving to Everton in January 2012.

After five years at Goodison Park the Northern Irishman, who played internationally for the Republic of Ireland, joined Sunderland and then Wigan, where he made 18 appearances in The Championship last season.
