Five Greater Manchester Tory MP’s led by Heywood and Middleton’s Chris Clarkson have written a letter to the mayor criticizing him for keeping 2.8 million people “in a state of suspended terror” and stressing that the “situation is pressing.”

The letter was also signed by James Daly, Mary Robinson,Mark Logan and Christian Wakefield and urged that a sensible accommodation can be reached with the Government around the negotiating table and not via a loud hailer.

Clarkson said that:

“I wrote with colleagues to the Mayor to make it clear we cannot and do not support a policy of endless total lockdowns as a way to tackle the alarming rise in COVID-19 cases.
