Nine fire engines tackled the blaze which broke out around 8.00pm which saw large flames visible from the nearby tram stop and thick smoke billowing across the area.
The street remains cordoned off as firefighters, police, and paramedics work at the scene.
Locals are urged to avoid the area while efforts to control the blaze continue
