For international Negroni Week, Thomas Dakin will be partnering with Salvi’s in the Corn Exchange to create a number of Negroni specials including the Gingeroni with Aperol & ginger wine, or the Smokey Negroni for just £7.

There will be an after-work drop in on Thursday for those wanting to sample the drinks or just starting the weekend early, with Negroni tasters on offer with Gin Curator Alix Walker hosting the bar from 5-9pm.

The traditional Negroni, created with Thomas Dakin, Campari and Red Vermouth will also be on offer at the Italian champagne, cocktail and Prosecco bar, which is situated under the glass atrium of Manchester’s historical Corn Exchange building.

As part of Negroni Week, Salvi’s and Thomas Dakin will be donating a percentage of the proceeds to their chosen charity Slow Foods International; a not–for–profit organisation seeking to promote a better way to eat, celebrating the rich food traditions of the different nations that make up the UK, and protecting the world’s edible biodiversity.

Negroni Week launched in 2013 as a celebration of one of the world’s great cocktails and an effort to raise money for charities around the world. From 2013 to 2017, Negroni Week grew from about 120 participating venues to over 7,700 venues around the world, and to date, they have collectively raised nearly $1.5 million for charitable causes. For one week every June, bar and restaurants mix classic Negronis and Negroni variations for a great cause.

World Gin Day

This Saturday is the first World Gin Day Manchester celebration, organised in celebration of the tenth World Gin Day for gin lovers across Manchester. The World Gin Day hub will be held at First Street, and Thomas Dakin will be partnering with the Gasworks Bar to serve their famous Tom & Tonic for just £5, as well as Gin Curator Alix Walker hosting masterclasses at the hub itself at 12pm & 4pm.

Thomas Dakin’s vintage truck Katie Dakin, will be driving round Manchester on Friday evening, visiting stockists of Thomas Dakin then parking up at First Street at the World Gin Day hub. Snap a photo of the vintage truck on it’s travels through town, and upload to Instagram with #TomonTour and #TomandTonic for a chance to win a selection of Thomas Dakin goodies!

Thomas Dakin is a classic, juniper-led, single London dry gin made the traditional way; handcrafted using the finest carefully selected botanicals which are added by hand inside the baby copper pot still. The Thomas Dakin gin school, bar and distillery is set to open in the centre of Manchester next year, moving from their current home in at G&J Distillers in Warrington to its smaller, dedicated distillery.
