Escape to Freight Island, at Depot Mayfield, Manchester, has announced a brand-new Sunday set menu from the live-fire Basque restaurant Baratxuri, which will be available to book from Sunday 26th September with a two-course meal at £21 or three-course meal at £25 to choose from.

Baratxuri has curated a selection of new dishes featuring meat, fish and vegetarian options, cooked up over their Basque wood fire ovens, for the perfect Sunday feast.

Start with a classic piquillo pepper Kroketas, rich-flavoured butterflied and grilled Sardines, or the smoked beetroot braised Figs and Picos.

Followed by main offerings which include a seriously tasty Suckling Lamb, braised Beef Cheek, an 8oz Hanger Steak, or a vegetarian option of Cauliflower steak with chargrilled Bravas.

The desserts are inspired by Baratxuri’s founders, Joe and Fiona’s travels, options include Basque style Trifle with rum & orange syrup and the traditional pastry from the Basque region of France, the Gâteau Basque, a buttery short pastry baked with vanilla.

Escape to Freight Island is an axis of incredible food, drink, music and immersive entertainment, hidden in plain sight at Manchester’s Depot Mayfield. An inspiring urban landscape rebuilt and rethought around a visionary food market, a unique selection of bars, inventive culture spaces and intimate seating.
