A registered sex offender from Timperley has been jailed for 5 years after pleading guilty to making indecent photographs of children

Several devices were seized from eighty seven year Peters Waterworth’s address following his arrest on the 23 June 2020 for an unrelated matter and a number of manipulated images – of boys and girls – were found on his laptop and mobile phone.

His internet history also revealed Waterworth had visited a number of sites relating to teenage girls and had photo editing software installed.

Detective Inspector Helen Bagnall, of Trafford CID, said: “Peter Waterworth posed a significant threat to children, actively seeking out indecent images of children and editing them.

“When he has served his prison sentence, which he rightly deserves, he will continue to be registered as a sex offender for life with an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.”
