A shop owner in Edgeley has been fined after our Environmental Health team uncovered a severe mouse infestation and a number of serious food hygiene failings at his store on Castle St.
Gurinder Singh Sandhu, owner of Gary’s Convenience Store, was fined more than £15,000 following a court hearing in Manchester last month.
Protecting residents is our top priority, and our Environmental Health team works year-round to ensure food businesses meet the standards expected.
While the conditions found at the time were unacceptable, the shop owner has since carried out significant improvements.
Following extensive cleaning, pest control measures and other remedial work, the store achieved a 4-star Food Hygiene Rating at its most recent inspection in June
