The Ukrainian Centre in Rochdale played host to Dumpling Day, which returned for a second year bringing together people of all ages to enjoy a day of food, music, and creativity.

Organised by Touchstones, part of Rochdale charity Your Trust, the free event attracted a diverse audience to celebrate the borough’s many diverse communities through shared traditions and cultural experiences.

The event brought families, food lovers and residents from around Rochdale together to explore global cuisines and take part in creative workshops.

The day featured dumpling tastings from around the world, including Ukrainian, Bangladeshi, and Nigerian dishes, alongside live traditional music, creative activities such as crochet and Argentine weaving, and the opportunity to hear from the Touchstones Museum team about the upcoming Dining Room Project.

Laura Mansfield, Heritage Coordinator at Touchstones, said: “It was brilliant to see so many people coming together again this year, sharing food, learning from each other and celebrating what makes Rochdale such a brilliant place to live.

“The response to the dumplings was fantastic, and the atmosphere throughout the day was full of energy. It was a huge success and really built on last year’s inaugural event.”
