Stacey Halls has been announced as the Whitaker Museum and Art Gallery’s first Honorary Patron
This announcement marks a significant milestone in the museum’s journey to strong national recognition and overall sustainability.
Stacey Halls, whose debut novel The Familiars became a best-seller in 2019, hails from Rossendale, making her the perfect advocate for The Whitaker’s mission of championing local talent, culture and history on a national level.
Author Stacey Halls said: “I am incredibly honoured to be named the first Honorary Patron of The Whitaker Museum and Art Gallery. I have fond memories of The Whitaker from my childhood – like many other local people. The museum and art gallery has developed in so many magical ways since then, and I’m excited to be part of its future going forward and seeing what we can do next.”
Becoming an Honorary Patron of The Whitaker offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of this beloved institution. Halls will lend her voice and guidance to elevate the museum’s impact, making a lasting difference in its mission to connect people with art, culture, and education.
Creative Director of The Whitaker Museum and Art Gallery, Gaynor Seville, said: “We are delighted that Stacey has joined us as a patron. It means so much to have such a well-known and celebrated local author giving their support to us. As a charity we depend on the generosity of our donors, sponsors and volunteers, and having a patron like Stacey is a wonderful way to celebrate the hard work and support so many give us. We look forward to working with Stacey now and into the future.”
