Two second half goals from Steve Hall saw Droylsden progress to the second qualifying round of the FA Cup after coming behind from a goal down to beat Yorkshire club Ossett Albion.

With new striker Brandon Zibaka, making his first start for the club and looking lively early on, it was the visitors who took the lead after just eight minutes with an unmarked Danny South heading into the net from a corner.

Ossett looked the more lively side in the first half coming close twice to scoring a second, a shot from just inside the area turned over the bar by Bloods keeper Ellison and a second effort striking the bar.

Droylsden looked a better team as the second half began with a Steve Hall header just flashing wide but at the other end a mistake by Wood nearly let Ossett in for second only for the keeper to deny and Connor Braunt should have made it 2-0 instead slicing his effort over the bar.

A double substitution from the Bloods followed and within minutes Steve Hall equalised rounding the keeper after great work from Brendon Zibaka.

With ten minutes left the same player scored the winner but Ossett were left to rue the many chances that they had to deny the Bloods a place in Monday’s draw for the second round.
