Male Patient And Doctor Have Consultation In Hospital Room

If you’ve been affected by bowel cancer, there is still time register to attend Bowel Cancer UK’s free living well event on Saturday 8 June 2019 at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester, from 10am – 3.15pm.

The Living Well with Bowel Cancer event will bring together other people affected by the disease to share their experiences, an opportunity to hear presentations about lifestyle changes during and after cancer treatment, psychological and emotional effects of a cancer diagnosis as well as strategies for dealing with stress and anxiety.

They’ll also be a chance to take part in a stoma workshop, yoga and learn more about mindfulness.

Every 15 minutes someone is diagnosed with bowel cancer, that’s almost 42,000 people every year making it’s the UK’s fourth most common cancer. It’s also the second biggest cancer killer however it shouldn’t be because it is treatable and curable especially if diagnosed early

Lauren Wiggins, Director of Services for Bowel Cancer UK, says: “We welcome bowel cancer patients and their loved ones to join us for these fabulous events that will offer information, support and inspiration. It’s a lovely opportunity to meet others that have been affected by the disease.”

Book your place today by Friday 31 May on Bowel Cancer UK’s website: bowelcanceruk.org.uk/livingwellevent
