The world premiere of And Now I Know What Love Is, a powerful new performance by radical North West artist Blackhaine, is running 9–19 July 2025 at Diecast, Manchester.
This major new commission for Manchester International Festival (MIF25) offers a raw, immersive journey into grief, survival, and the fragile beauty of human connection.
Known for his intense live performances, visceral choreography, and genre-defying sound, Blackhaine fuses drill, industrial noise, and movement in a blistering meditation on despair, ritual, and resilience. And Now I Know What Love Is draws on the liminal edges of England’s post-industrial North, inviting audiences into a haunting dream-space that’s part installation, part performance—and fully unforgettable.
Performances unfold in the cavernous halls of Diecast – one of Manchester’s most atmospheric industrial venues. Audience members are free to stand, move, or find a space around the edge of the performance area, encountering dancers and each other in a heightened sensory space.
