No matter how organised you are, some days can be totally overwhelming. After these days are over, it can be really hard to switch off and enjoy your evening. But, creating this separation and relaxing is important, in order to live a healthy lifestyle!

Here are some ideas if you just can’t seem to switch off…

Treat Yourself

When you’re busy it can seem impossible to carve out time for your mind and body. But, a little bit of time to yourself is vital for a happy life.

If you enjoy pampering yourself, then take some time to have a bubble bath or a candlelit shower. Or, why not have your favourite meal for dinner.

Try to choose relaxing activities, but also ones that you enjoy, that can keep your mind occupied during me-time. A fantastic activity is journaling, which can be a powerful tool to unpack your day and give your mind a break.

If you are too tired to write in your journal (we’ve all had those days) it can be fun and fulfilling to have an online reading with a trusted psychic or a tarot reader. They can help lead you in the right direction in reconnecting with yourself – which is very important for me-time!

Put the Phone Away!

Once you have reconnected with yourself during me-time, it is important to keep the stresses of the outside world out. Our brain can get totally overstimulated by all the information and messages we receive from technology, especially our phones.

Go for a short walk

Sometimes the thought of doing exercise after a long and tiring day is the last thing that we want. However, getting moving is a great way to unload the stress of the day. Getting outside for a short, brisk walk can leave you feeling better. So, when walking home from the station, take the longer scenic route! Or, get off the bus a couple stops early to get those legs moving.

Choose a fulfilling and enriching activity

Instead of turning on the TV and sitting in front of it for the next 4 or 5 hours, use this precious time to reconnect with your hobbies. You will feel so much calmer if you spend this time reading or creating. If you have kids, why not do some painting with them before bedtime.

These hobbies can become almost like a type of meditation and will give your brain a break from high-stress thoughts. Instead, you can tune out and focus on something tactical, that you are doing with your hands.

Switching off is not as difficult as it may seem! It is all about making valuable bedtime habits that will have a great effect on your day tomorrow.

Get into bed early

Cozy up in your bed nice and early, so you can get ample of sleep to wake up feeling refreshed tomorrow! If you are struggling to sleep, a guided meditation or hypnosis found on YouTube can be a fantastic way to quieten your thoughts.
