Manchester’s iconic performing arts venue Contact has teamed up with Manchester’s biggest and friendliest street food venue GRUB to re-imagine their exciting new food and beverage offering.

Following their major reopening earlier this year, Contact, Oxford Road’s most exciting venue, is launching their new bar and kitchen, powered by Manchester’s biggest and friendliest street food venue, GRUB and working with one of the best street food chefs in the north Michael Anderson of Tikka Chance On Me.

Based in Manchester’s Green Quarter GRUB has built a reputation for being Manchester’s friendliest and most sustainable street food venue. With the UK’s first vegan street food event as well as monthly Gluten-free nights, cocktail master classes and more.

Jason Bailey, Director of GRUB, said, “We are delighted to partner up with Contact on this new venture. We have worked closely with the team at Contact to create a bespoke and sustainable, locally sourced food and beverage offering which we are excited to open to the public”

Simon Stephens, Head of Commercial & Visitor Experience, Contact added, “We’re incredibly excited to be working with GRUB on the new Contact Bar & Kitchen. This is the final piece in the puzzle following our major refurbishment and, with their inclusive ethic, championing of local independent produce and commitment to sustainability, GRUB are the perfect fit for Contact”

Being in the top 1% of sustainable public buildings in the UK, environmentally friendly produce and systems are very important in everything Contact does. This partnership with GRUB will continue to show the commitment both companies have to environmentally friendly operations.

The new kitchen will open on Wednesday 1st December with a full menu curated by Michael Anderson from Tikka Chance on Me. This will feature both an exciting evening menu including a range of Indian-inspired burgers and small plates such as Sticky Tamarind Wings, as well as a lunchtime menu featuring cold wraps, toasted sandwiches, loaded fries and more. The offering will be fiercely Northern but globally-inspired.

The bar will consist of a wide selection of beers from independent breweries such as Green Quarter’s Runaway Brewery, Manchester Union, Fierce Beer, and a unique range of cocktails created by GRUB’s in-house mixologists.

The new Contact Bar & Kitchen opens Wednesday 1st December, opening hours will be 10am to 8pm Monday – Friday, 12pm to 8pm Saturday and closed on Sundays.
