Searches for flights to Paris spiked in the hours following the announcement that Man City would face PSG in the former’s first ever Champions League Quarter-Finals, according to Cheapflights.co.uk, the global flight comparison and deals publishing website.
Searches for flights from Manchester to Paris for 7 – 8 April 2016 increased by 11,800% compared to the week before, while those from London rose by 490% week-on-week.

Manchester City, now the last remaining UK team in the championships, will face Paris Saint-Germain at the French side’s stadium, following PSG’s defeat of Chelsea.

Phil Bloomfield of Cheapflights says: “City fans clearly want to get behind their team in a big way as they enter the unknown territory of their first knock-out stage of the competition. It’s not unusual for us to see spikes in search traffic after draw announcements like this as people look for the best deals, but these numbers are off the chart. Even if tickets to the actual match are limited, it’s evident that many fans just want to be in the city to soak up the atmosphere – so we wish them a happy, and victorious, trip!”
