After (hopefully) the final national lockdown and months without any skiing or snowtertainment, Chill Factore is officially opening its doors again on Monday 12 April at 1pm.

The re-opening of the UK’s longest indoor snow slope comes with some changes to opening hours, lesson sizes and the number of activities on offer, to ensure guests and staff can safely be socially distanced at all times.

With nobody getting away for their winter holidays this year, ski and snowboard skills might need dusting up on with ski lessons for all abilities and ages.

Family favourite activity, Snow Park, as well as Lift Passes will also be available to easily buy online. Chill Factore has a ‘We’re Good To Go’ accreditation from Visit England which should help to reassure anyone about the Covid safety on site.

In line with Government guidelines for the industry, and to ensure guests safety out on the slope, all equipment is sanitised by highly trained staff before and after use. There are also fewer places on Snow Park sessions to allow guests from different households to keep a safe distance from one another.

Plus, the Family and Friends Lesson format means that those that live in the same household, or are in the same social bubble, can enjoy a private lesson on the slope. Numbers will be limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

On the re-opening, Chill Factore MD Ian Brown said, “The whole team can’t wait to welcome the ski and snowboard enthusiasts as well as families of the north west back to the slopes. It’s been such a long time since we’ve been able to take part in any sport or exhilarating activities together that it’s a momentous occasion for all of us.

With the ‘We’re Good To Go’ accreditation from Visit England and all of the safety measures in place are, in line with Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, we want everyone to know that we’re taking the safety of our guests and team members very seriously. We’re so excited that everyone can start having fun in the snow again and it will be done as safely as possible.”

The team will be wearing PPE and protective screens have been installed at the main Guest Reception, along with multiple sanitising stations for guests to use on arrival, during their visit, and when they leave. In addition, snow fans must pre-book their tickets online and collect them from the self-service machines or Guest Reception upon arrival.

To reduce contact among guests and in line with the current Government guidelines, the changing and locker facilities will remain closed and Chill Factore will not be offering clothing hire for its activities. Guests will need to arrive in warm, waterproof clothing and appropriate clean, grippy footwear before heading out to the sub-zero slope to enjoy the snow.

For those activities where kit hire is essential, including lessons and lift passes, guests will be able to borrow skis, ski boots, snowboards and helmets, or of course, bring their own. All equipment will be subject to thorough sanitising and quarantine measures between each use, using a new anti-viral fogging machine which eliminates airborne viruses on contact.
