Castlefield Dome is all set to host Manchester’s biggest outdoor World Cup fan zone event tomorrow Wednesday 15 July for England’s semi-final match against Argentina

With a capacity of up to 9,000 and Manchester’s prolonged spell of sunshine and dry weather set to continue, the venue provides the chance for fans to come together outdoors to enjoy the match and to cheer on the England squad – sending the Wonderwall vibes straight out from the heart of Manchester to the side-lines of the stadium in Atlanta.

Doors open at 5:30 pm for the Road to Victory ticketed event and close at the end of the match – whether that’s after 90 minutes, extra time, or a run of heart-stopping penalties.

Fans with tickets for the event should note that it is a standing only event.  An accessible viewing area is available on a first-come, first-served basis for fans in wheelchairs and those whose additional needs mean they are unable to stand for the duration of the event, if they pre-register with the event promoters by emailing [email protected]  ahead of the event and by 4:00 pm latest tomorrow, Wednesday.

No bags larger than A4 in size will be allowed into the event, and strictly no glass bottles, cans, fireworks or flares of any description, with bag searches in operation on entry.

Councillor Shazia Butt, Executive Member for Culture, Leisure and Libraries, Manchester City Council, said:  “Excitement about England’s journey in the World Cup and reaching the semi-final is at fever pitch across the whole country, including here in Manchester.

“The atmosphere in living rooms, community clubs, pubs and venues across the city is going to be electric as people get together to enjoy the match – and nowhere more so than amongst the crowd in Castlefield Bowl.

“Manchester is known across the globe as a great footballing city with some of the most passionate fans in the world, which is why we’ve partnered with organisers Road to Victory to support them in providing this fantastic opportunity for fans to come together outdoors in Castlefield and live every moment in real time with England’s finest as they take to the pitch in Atlanta.

“Whether it’s tears or cheers at the end of the match – one thing’s for sure – you won’t want to miss it!”

Organisers and promoters of the fan-zone event in Castlefield Bowl are Road to Victory who previously welcomed over 40,000 fans during the 2022 World Cup before selling out the AO Arena for the Euro 2024 Final.

David Norris, Road to Victory, said: “The latter stages of the World Cup always create unforgettable moments and we wanted to create a setting that matches that occasion.

“Castlefield Bowl gives us the opportunity to bring thousands of fans together in one of Manchester’s most iconic outdoor venues for what will be an incredible celebration of football.”
