The former star of the hit ITV show recollected how in an incident in the villa nearly led to him missing out on the show.

Speaking to Chuckie Online on a special Instagram Live edition of JD’s In the Duffle Bag podcast, Jordan said, “The funny thing is I was supposed to be going to Barcelona to go to Sonar festival, so I rang my mates up like I can’t go Sonar, I’m going in Love Island.

“I flew out to Mallorca the next day, on Friday I landed and went to bed.

“The next day I was walking along the beach, thought I was going in that night and the producer rings me ‘Jordan, you’re gonna think I’m taking the mick here but we’re not ready for you, something has happened in the Villa, we’re going to have to fly you home’.

“I’m like no way, I’m not sure what happened, it’s a reactive show, but they basically said we’re not ready for you.

“I said book me a flight to Barcelona then because I’m going on holiday. They did, landed on Saturday night there, got another call, ‘can you ask your driver to turn around, we’re putting you in the Villa tonight.’”

After his whirlwind arrival, Jordan, who used to model for JD before appearing on Love Island, admitted it took him a couple of days to get used to his new surroundings, “I didn’t really have time to think about it that much when you’re there, you’re just living, getting to know people.

“First few days I was walking around thinking this is weird man, this is weird, then after that, you just settle in and get used to it.

“I found talking to the camera weird at first, you’re literally just looking at a computer.

“Unbelievable experience though, I didn’t think I’d get as much out of it as I had.”

Born in Manchester, Jordan recently moved to London, where he shared what he’s been up to during lockdown, “I’m enjoying lockdown, we’re playing pranks on each other, just messing about.

“I’ve Been spending time on TikTok, just messing about with that, just trying to make some different content for my page.

“Over the past few months, I’ve been a little bit more experimental with what I’ve been making.”

Hames, who was in the Love Island villa for 5 weeks last year, shared his entertainment recommendations for people staying at home, “I love Skepta, Chip and Young Adz’ new song, I think that’s amazing.

“I’ve been listening to Party Next Door’s new album, listen to ‘Trauma’ when you get a minute.

“Tiger King, that is a madness, I’ve been watching Designated Survivor and Money Heist too.

“Ozark is good, I like crime dramas.

“I’m more of a podcast guy, I listen to a lot of GaryVee’s podcast about motivation and using your time wisely, just like work rate levels.”
