Accrington Stanley travels to the bottom of the league Wigan Atheltic as they look to continue their fine form of late and push into the playoff places ahead of a busy Christmas schedule. Following last weeks shock win over Sunderland, Wigan will b hoping to mount some kind of run together to close the gap to safety. Rochdale makes their way over to Peterborough, who are in a funk of results recently with only win in their last five matches, however, they still occupy a play-off place. Rochdale likewise are in one win in five form, but they sit 18th in League One and on the cusp of the bottom three. The pressure is building on Brain Barry-Murphy, reading on social media, the fans are not happy at the moment and to take advantage of Posh’s form would be greatly received.

Bolton Wanderers tasted defeat for the first time last weekend after a good run of victories. Ian Evatt was not happy following their 6-3 defeat last weekend and will be looking for a reaction against fellow mid-table team Walsall.

Altrincham’s recent form in the National League as seen them rocket up the league into the play-off places. A stark contrast from the early season which looked like they could struggle this season. A game against lowly Dagenham and Redbridge could see them add to their strings of wins.

Stockport County finally got back to league football recently and this week see them host Sutton United. A side that they will be seeing as rivals, with County four games behind and looking to close the gap to the top of the table once again. With the Christmas schedule closing in, Jim Gannon will be hoping to gain momentum towards Stockport’s traditional new year upsurge in results.
