The family of a man with a ‘heart of gold’ have paid tribute to him following his death in Bolton last week.

Trevor Hilton, 75, was pronounced dead on Friday morning after officers responded to an incident at an address on Ormrod Street.

His death is now subject to a murder investigation, with a woman now charged and in custody.

Paying tribute, a family spokesperson said: “Trevor was a dear father, grandfather and brother to his siblings whose life was taken far too soon.

“Trevor was such a joker and we will miss the good times and will cherish the memories that we have. Trevor had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need, he will always be in our thoughts.

“The loss of Trevor has left a hole in our family which cannot be filled and we are heartbroken and would like to request privacy whilst we are trying to come to terms with what has happened.”
