Oasis fans who missed out on tickets to the biggest reunion of the year can still feel Supersonic.
On Thursday 3 July, Manchester’s Printworks will host a free Oasis sing-along party featuring live music, crowd karaoke, fan giveaways and a showstopping Britpop-themed digital display voiced by Manchester legend Bez.
The city centre venue will transform into a full-blown fan experience with two live performances from Whatever Oasis Tribute, the UK’s leading tribute band, performing two 45-minute sets at 6pm and 7pm. With lyrics projected onto the venue’s giant screen, fans are invited to sing their hearts out to every Oasis anthem – from Wonderwall to Don’t Look Back in Anger.
As fans belt out their favourite hits below, Europe’s largest digital ceiling above will come alive in spectacular fashion with a vibrant Britpop-themed visual display voiced by Manchester legend and Happy Monday’s star Bez. The immersive installation will pay homage to the golden era of 90s British music and culture, featuring animated sequences of iconic imagery – from Union Jack motifs and recognisable fashion to kaleidoscopic colours that evoke the spirit of the decade.
Kristian Brennan, Marketing Manager at Printworks, said: “Oasis are part of Manchester’s DNA, and we wanted to give our visitors a way to experience that connection – even if they didn’t get tickets. From singing your hearts out to picking up bucket hat freebies, this is all about celebrating the music that defined a generation, right here in one of the city’s most iconic venues.”
The celebration continues throughout July on Heaton Park gig dates (11, 12, 16, 19, 20 July). Anyone wearing a signature bucket hat can enjoy a complimentary small tub of soft-serve ice cream at Big Licks on all concert dates, while wearers can grab a free shot at Tank & Paddle exclusively on 3 July to mark the sing-along event.
