As commemorations take place across the UK for Remembrance Sunday, The Printworks and Norwegian Blue are making a special tribute to thank military personnel for bravely representing Britain.
free tea, coffees, and hot chocolates will be available for all ex and current service men and women who wear their service badge. This will take place between 11.30am and 6pm at Norwegian Blue. This gesture will coincide with a Remembrance service being held at The Printworks at 11am on Sunday 8th.

Before The Printworks became an entertainment complex, it ran successfully as a newspaper printing house for over 100 years, producing publications such as the Manchester Evening Chronicle and the Daily Mirror.

The service will commemorate all printing staff of the original Printworks that selflessly gave their lives fighting in both world wars. It will be lead by a member of the ‘Fellowship’, a group of ex staff that worked in the printing house before it closed in 1986.

There will be a minute’s silence, followed by the sounding of the Last Post, the Reveille and finished by the Ode of Remembrance. There will also be a live feed to the BBC’s service on the big screen. All members of the public are invited to attend and pay their respects.

Charlotte Fenton, Manager of Norwegian Blue, said: “We’re proud to support this event held by The Printworks. Providing hot drinks for the military veterans is a small gesture to say thank you for supporting and protecting our country.”

Fred Booth, Centre Director said: “So many people in our city have put their lives at risk to protect us. That’s why we wanted to do something at The Printworks to honour the service people, including the ex workers of the publishing house, who have fought for us, as a way to thank them for their bravery.”

There will also be a bucket collection to raise funds for the poppy appeal during the weekend, available at Norwegian Blue.
