With another Premier League season having drawn to a close, it’s a good time to analyse the facts and figures from another memorable campaign, and there’s nothing more important than goals, right?

Erling Haaland has stood head and shoulders above the rest, with the Norwegian setting a new record for goals scored in a Premier League campaign, but there have been some other top performers who have impressed those betting on football with Paddy Power. Let’s take a look at the top five scorers from the 2022-23 Premier League season.

Erling Haaland

It’s difficult to know what else to say about Haaland. The striker appears to be more machine than man, and he has demonstrated his scoring prowess from the very first game of this Premier League campaign. A brace against West Ham United back at the beginning of August set the tone for Haaland’s record-breaking season, and the Norwegian hasn’t looked back since.

Pep Guardiola has found a way to get the best out of his number nine without sacrificing the fluency of the team, and that is a major season for Manchester City’s success this season.

Harry Kane

While Tottenham Hotspur’s season has capitulated in spectacular fashion, Harry Kane’s personal goals return has been impressive. With 30 league goals, the England captain has posted his best Premier League return since the 2017-18 season, and he’ll still have Alan Shearers all-time record in his sights.

There are rumours that Kane is set to leave Tottenham this summer, so fed up is he with the organisational shambles behind the scene, and he’d leave a massive hole in the team from a goalscoring perspective.

Ivan Toney

It’s been another fantastic Premier League campaign for Ivan Toney, with the Brentford man notching 20 goals. He’s become Brentford’s most important player by some distance, and when he’s on top form he is virtually unplayable. Toney may appear laid back, but there are few better at knowing when and where to position himself to get a chance to score.

Toney’s recent suspension looks set to rule him out for a large part of next season, and Brentford will need to find someone to fill the gap.

Mohamed Salah

While Liverpool have not always looked at their best this season, the form of Mohamed Salah has rarely dipped below a certain level. Yes, there are moments where it appears as though he is isolated or playing on the periphery of the match, but few players possess his innate ability to grab a goal out of nothing.

Despite the arrival of new attacking additions over the past 18 months or so, Salah is still very much at the forefront of Liverpool’s future plans, and with good reason given his 19 Premier League goals this season. His presence will always make Liverpool well favoured in the football tips.

Callum Wilson

Newcastle United have enjoyed a season to remember, with Champions League football returning to St. James’ Park for the first time in over 20 years. Callum Wilson’s form has been a huge factor in their success.

18 goals tells the tale of Wilson’s best ever scoring season in the Premier League, and while he may be 31 years of age, it seems as if the Englishman is hitting his peak years.
