Campfield has partnered with GRUB to present Campfield Market – A first of its kind prestige market brand curated by the GRUB team, supporting independents and building community.
European inspired and bringing a brand new food hall to Manchester, the market opens on Saturday 8 November 2025.
Every Saturday from 10am–4pm, the historic Campfield campus in Manchester’s St. John’s neighbourhood will transform into a vibrant city market, celebrating the best of independent retail, food and drink across all three Campfield buildings. The new Campfield Market will be three times larger than this summer’s Weekender events, which drew thousands of visitors and glowing reviews from both traders and the local community.
Developed by Allied London and operated by Department, Campfield is a tech and AI campus set within three historic Grade II-listed buildings. Now home to production studios, workshops, flexible workspaces, and Exchange, Manchester’s leading accelerator for tech-enabled startups, Campfield has quickly becoming a cornerstone of Manchester’s modern industry.
With the launch of Campfield Market, the campus opens its doors every weekend to the wider community, reintroducing Campfield’s original use as a public gathering space and reviving its legacy as a destination for culture, commerce and trade.
GRUB, Manchester’s renowned street food and hospitality specialist, will operate and deliver Campfield Market. Known for supporting the region’s most exciting independent traders and their strong sustainability ethos, GRUB brings a decade of expertise in hosting unforgettable experiences across the city.
Together, Campfield and GRUB aim to create a modern Manchester market destination that’s rooted in the city’s industrious heritage while showcasing progressive ideas and global influences in food, drink and culture.
Beneath Campfield’s iconic glass roof, a carefully curated collective of up to 50 hand-selected artisans will showcase an exceptional selection of art, collectibles, and artisan produce. With an ever-evolving roster of makers that refreshes weekly, each visit promises something new.
Manchester’s first ‘Euro-style’ food hall experience, featuring family-owned Spanish brewery Estrella Galicia, a European wine bar, and 12 stalls serving top-quality European produce such as charcuterie, oysters, sourdough, sushi, cheese, pickles and tapas. Visitors can create their own sharing platters and enjoy them in a new 120-capacity European food hall experience at the heart of the market.
The social hub of the market will be Castlefield House, offering an array of street food favourites and farmers’ market classics: dumplings, paella, pizza, bratwurst, smokehouse dishes, poke bowls and artisan coffee. Outside in the courtyard, a local produce market brings a greengrocer, butcher and fishmonger back to Castlefield, alongside fresh, organic and locally sourced produce, all on local residents’ doorsteps.
Campfield Market marks a major milestone in the evolution of the St. John’s neighbourhood, providing a new weekly destination for locals, visitors and tourists within a campus dedicated to Manchester’s innovation industry.
Jason Bailey, GRUB’s Director, said: “GRUB is back in Manchester city centre with Campfield Market, a weekly prestige market experience that’s three times bigger than anything we’ve done before. Manchester has been crying out for a proper market experience and we hope the city can get behind this ambitious new destination in the most amazing location.”
Jack Ingall, Allied London’s Commercial Creative Executive, said: “Re-activating Campfield Market is a major step in our long-term vision for St. John’s, creating a lively, connected neighbourhood where enterprise, culture, living and entertainment come together. Partnering with GRUB has enabled Campfield to expand its commitment to the community and ensure a sense of culture and locality to this exciting campus.”
The Weekender is a cultural brand built to bring back authentic traders and real street-side theatre. Expect exceptional independents, ambitious personalities and pop-up moments that turn the market into a destination, creating an electric, energetic atmosphere every Saturday. As it expands across St. John’s — from Campfield to Grape Street — The Weekender will connect spaces, stages and markets into a district-wide celebration of culture, commerce and leisure every weekend. Attracting residents and visitors alike to a new European destination.
Campfield Market launches Saturday 8 November 2025 and is open every Saturday, 10am–4pm, Campfield, Liverpool Road, Manchester M3 4FP.
