Manchester Italian restaurant Dom’s Tavola Calda has announced it will offer 50% off all food orders for all key workers to say thank you to all those working hard to keep Manchester safe during the coronavirus pandemic.
The offer includes but is not limited to supermarket staff, carers, teachers, cleaners, bin men, security teams, bus, train and tram drivers, police, firemen, military personnel and of course NHS medical workers.
All will be able to order half-price food on any Dom’s takeaway during the pandemic as a small token of appreciation for the amazing work all of Manchester’s key workers are doing to keep the city going during this unprecedented time.
The family-run restaurant has been a staple on Deansgate since the mid 90’s and specialises in traditional Italian fare drawing influence from chef patriot Dom’s southern Italian upbringing. All bread, pasta and pizza is made freshly on site every day.
In response to the coronavirus pandemic, the restaurant has converted into a takeaway and is currently offering food for contactless collection. Owners are currently working on arranging a delivery option for customers too.
The restaurant’s full a la carte menu and drinks list is available to order as a takeaway and can be viewed online. Fresh bread can also be pre-ordered for collection a day in advance.
In a statement, the restaurant said: “As of today we are offering 50% off takeaway for ALL the key workers out there. To the supermarket workers, the cleaners, the people collecting our bins, the security staff, police, firemen, carers, teachers, military personnel, medical workers and all those putting themselves at risk – thank you for keeping Manchester going and for keeping us safe. We salute you!”
Orders can be placed between 12-3pm and 5-9pm every day. Customers can call on 0161 834 2649 or email info@doms-manchester.co.uk to arrange a contactless payment and pick up. The restaurant is asking people to supply proof that they are a key worker in order to redeem the discount.
