An 81 year old man has been arrested after a 62-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a collision in Gorton yesterday afternoon
The pedestrian was walking on the north side of Hyde Road (A57) walking towards Hyde and begins to cross the road across two lanes and stopped in the central dividing line.
At the same time, a Vauxhall Corsa is understood to have been travelling on Hyde Road towards Hyde when the vehicle collided with the victim, continued driving slightly further down the road before returning to the scene on the opposing side of the carriageway.
GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
