A 58-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and has been taken to hospital for treatment after the body of a women was found at an address on Alexander street in Rochdale earlier today .
A scene has been established on Alexander street while police investigate.
Detective Inspector Dave Meeney of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “It is very early days in this investigation, and we are working to establish how this tragic incident unfolded.
“A man has been arrested, but our enquiries will continue until we have answers to the questions this woman’s family rightly deserve.
“We need the public’s help with this so, please, if you have any information that could help us understand how this happened, get in touch with police.”
