A 49 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a 48 year old male was found at an address in Royton this morning
The victim was declared deceased at the scene on Higginshaw Lane this morning
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident and all lines of enquiry cannot be ruled out at this time.
Detective Inspector Rachel Smith from our Major Incident Team (MIT) said: “Our thoughts remain with the victim’s loved ones. We understand the concern this incident may cause across the local community, but I would like to reassure you that we believe this to be an isolated incident that poses no wider threat to the public.
“We are open to all lines of enquiry at this early stage of the investigation, and we are conducting extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident.
“You will notice an increased presence in the area whilst we conduct enquiries.
