A man from Heywood has been charged with the rape of a woman on Sunday 11 December in Rochdale town centre.
Francis Henshaw aged 41 of Bury New Road was arrested on Friday and charged on Saturday with the rape in Rochdale and also a sexual assault that occurred in September, of a 17-year-old girl.
He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Salford Magistrates Court today .
DS Steven Gilliland of Rochdale CID said: “I would like to thank the members of the public who identified the man in the photograph that we issued to the media.
“Because of this he has been arrested and charged and will now go before the courts.”
