A 38 year old woman pedestrian has died after being hit by a blue Mercedes G63 last night
The accident happened at the junction of Alan Turing Way and Ashton Old Road around 9pm
The woman was taken to hospital, where despite the best work of hospital staff, she sadly died a short time later.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
Inspector Darren Hancock, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This is a tragic incident in which a woman has very sadly lost her life. Our thoughts are with her loved ones at this difficult time.
“This collision happened on a busy road and I am hopeful that there are a number of witnesses who will have seen the collision and may have dashcam footage.
“If you were on this road at the time and saw the car in the lead up to the collison or have any dashcam footage, please get in touch with police as soon as possible.”
