The 30 year old woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where she remains in a stable condition to be treated for possibly life-changing injuries after being hit by a car in Hulme .

The accident happened around 5.45pm on Monday on Old Birley Street involving a grey Mercedes  AMG A45.

The driver of the grey Mercedes remained at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

No arrests have been made and officers are encouraging any eyewitnesses or anyone with footage to come forward and aid police with their enquiries.

Police Constable Andy Graham, of GMP’s Road Policing Unit, said: “The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and we wish her well as she continues her recovery in hospital – it is important we establish the full circumstances of how this came to be.

“We want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this collision or have dash cam footage from around the area in the proceeding moments before this incident took place.”
